Rules

Yeah, we have a few.

To make sure everyone has a good time, and the event is safe and fun for everyone, we have a few basic rules that we ask everyone to follow. If you don’t follow them, then we’ll ask you to leave, and then everyone will be having a good time except you. 🙂

Friday morning entry to the festival will be at the Main Gate only.

No parking along the road leading to the festival site until 9:00 AM on Friday morning. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed.

Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over age 21.

Minors in possession of alcohol will be ticketed, evicted, and prosecuted.

Pets, emotional support animals, and comfort animals are strictly prohibited. Service animals individually trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities are welcome, pursuant to the ADA and Michigan law. Service animals must remain under the handler’s physical control at all times via a leash, harness, or tether, unless a disability prevents using these devices. Handlers are required to clean up and properly dispose of all animal waste immediately. Smiling Acres reserves the right to ask that a service animal be removed if it is out of control, aggressive, or not housebroken.

IF ANY ANIMAL OTHER THAN A SERVICE ANIMAL IS FOUND IN YOUR VEHICLE YOU MAY NOT ENTER.

Smiling Acres is a small hobby farm. Please be courteous of the animals who live there. Do not feed any of the animals except for the provided feeding stations.

Wear your wristband on your wrist where it can be seen all weekend. Smiling Acres is not responsible for lost or stolen wristbands, theft, loss or damage of personal property or personal injury. Persons without wrist tickets (wristbands) will be ejected from the Festival. If they return, they will be arrested & prosecuted. Persons with counterfeit wristbands will be ticketed, evicted and prosecuted.

Do not block fire lines.

Park all campers, vehicles, and motor homes with either tongue or nose facing toward the road/lane for quickest exit in the unlikely event of an evacuation.

Stay within the festival boundaries.

Respect your neighbors and your neighbors’ property.

Please report problematic behavior to Smiling Acres staff.

Day parking is available and intended for people who are not camping and extra vehicles not needed at campsites.

No driving in the campgrounds after 9:00 PM. If you arrive after 9:00 PM, please park in Day Parking for the night. If you know you will be leaving after 9:00 PM, please park in Day Parking.

No open fires (ground fires). All heat producing devices such as grills, camp stoves and

Coleman lanterns must be carefully monitored and may not be left unattended.

Limited use of radios and music devices is allowed at low volume that does not interfere with your neighbors’ camping experience.

Campsites are primitive (no electrical connection available). Generators are allowed so long as they are quiet (65db or less) and the exhaust does not interfere with another campsite, but all generators must be turned off after 10:00 PM. If you require a generator for medical reasons, such as a CPAP, please contact us and we will work with you to make the necessary arrangements.

Unauthorized vending is not allowed at the festival.

Secure alcoholic beverages and/or coolers when you leave your campsite.

After Friday and Saturday night, while we don’t “lock the gate”, we do ask that guests refrain from departing after 12:30 AM, for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.

No weapons on festival grounds.

The festival grounds close at 7:00 PM on Sunday. Please plan to depart the festival grounds by this time.

No glass bottles.

No littering.

No scooters, golf carts, or bicycles.

No fireworks.

No sky lanterns.

No drones or other unmanned remote control vehicles.

No professional photography or video recording without a Media Pass.

Have fun!

Okay, that one’s not really a rule, but we definitely hope you’ll do it anyway. 🙂 If there is anything we can do to make your festival better, please don’t hesitate to let us know!
